Accessibility

Designed to serve every family.

Mountain Ridge Pediatrics is committed to providing a website and services that are welcoming, usable, and accessible to every parent and child we serve, including users of assistive technology.

Our commitment

We believe access to pediatric care starts online. Our website is designed to align with the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for healthcare providers subject to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

What we’ve built in

  • Keyboard navigation, every button, link, form field, and interactive control can be reached and used with a keyboard alone. A visible skip-to-content link lets keyboard and screen-reader users jump past the header.
  • Screen-reader friendly, semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), descriptive page titles, meaningful alt text on images, and ARIA attributes only where they add value.
  • Visible focus indicators, every focusable element shows a high-contrast focus ring when tabbed to.
  • Touch target sizing, all buttons, links, and controls meet or exceed 24×24 CSS pixels (most are 44×44 or larger).
  • Color contrast, body text meets WCAG Level AA (most pairs exceed AAA). Information is never conveyed by color alone.
  • Motion sensitivity, the homepage carousel has an explicit pause control, and all animation respects the prefers-reduced-motion browser setting.
  • Zoom and reflow, content reflows cleanly at 320px wide and at 400% browser zoom without loss of function.
  • High-contrast modes, the site adapts to Windows High Contrast and the prefers-contrast: more media query.
  • Plain language, navigation and primary calls-to-action use clear, parent-friendly wording instead of medical jargon.

Ongoing testing

We test with real keyboard, screen reader, and zoom workflows, in addition to automated tooling. Because accessibility is never a one-time project, we continue to audit the site as we add features and update content.
